Broken But Eager.
Updated: May 30, 2021
Does it matter to you that I’m emotionally defective? I fall in love faster than most you’re ever likely to meet.
Please say it doesn’t.
Do you care about the chasms of scars that mar my whole being? They’ve created a landscape of mistrust and foreboding that’s sure to drive you stark raving mad.
Please say you don’t.
I’ve blights on my spirit that cast a shadow on even the brightest of days. Nights can turn to shit in a single syllable, and I won’t return to you til the morning.
My darling, tell me you don’t mind.
Tell me you can soothe the aches of a million lifetimes in a single solitary kiss. That a stroke of your hand can cure the cancerous tumours on my bruised and battered ego.
But please, oh beautiful one, please don’t lie.
Don’t sell me a blossoming future of half truths tinged with the fallacy of charm, my wee soul can break faster than lightning can strike.
Oh please, my darling, no more fucking lies.
Are you worried that I’m just a fantasy? Does it scare you that I can see into your soul? Are you frightened that I think I can tell what the future brings, even though my shambolic life lies in tatters?
Please say you’re just as insane up as I am.
I can pull demons from the underworld you know? And turn my beauty into madness should jealousy strike from no-where. I’ll greedily feast on the guts of your love and vomit out the remains of your sentiments as I see fit.
Don’t you mind, sweet man??
In a heartbeat I’ll morph into a Medusan succubus. I’ll lap up your terror and laugh as your sad eyes watch me descend into a lunacy you’ve no fucking hope of ever pulling me back from.
Is that ok, kind soul? Shall we go for it anyway??
I think I know the answer to that one.
